The client

One of the leading building-material manufacturers in its market, operating industrial production lines in the CIS region.

Location: CIS

The project connected video-based hazardous-zone monitoring to the equipment’s existing relay logic and gave operators a clearer view of both occupancy and system availability.

The production challenge

Industrial robots, conveyors, sawing lines, packaging machines, shrink-wrapping equipment and stackers all create areas where access must be controlled while machinery is operating.

The customer needed more than a notification on a screen. A detected person had to produce a signal that the existing safety-control circuit could use for a stop or interlock action.

Detection linked to the machinery

Video analytics processes camera streams in real time and identifies people inside configured hazardous perimeters. When the conditions of a scenario are met, the system passes a signal to the customer’s relay circuit. The resulting equipment action depends on the integration and the plant’s operating procedures.

Monitoring areas without complete camera coverage

Some rooms and production areas could not be observed continuously by cameras. For these locations, cameras at entry and exit points count people entering and leaving.

When the recorded number of entries exceeds exits, the system keeps the occupancy signal active. It is cleared after the last person has left or through the defined operator reset procedure. This provides a way to monitor occupancy when the interior is not fully visible.

Changes for the operator

The implementation added relay-status visibility, a combined manual reset for the signal and entry/exit counter, and clearer notifications when the system becomes unavailable. Operators can see an abnormal system state and respond without having to infer it from a missing event.

The result

The deployed solution brings visual observations into the plant’s equipment-response workflow. The published account confirms completion of the implementation but does not provide a quantified accident-reduction figure or establish a safety integrity certification.
