Process analytics

Computer vision for industrial process monitoring

Use video and sensor observations to analyse loading, material size, flotation froth and work sequences. Explore industrial process analytics with ViewLogic.

Application approach

Measure the process that matters.

01

Loading and movement

Combine suitable cameras or depth sensors with a defined measurement procedure. Validate results against a reference.

02

Sequences of work

Use tracks, zones and event timing to recognise meaningful stages rather than isolated visual detections.

03

Operational context

Join video-derived events with agreed external signals. Define how timestamps and asset identifiers are reconciled.

04

Useful reporting

Build reports around the operational question, data coverage and review process. Separate measured outcomes from estimates.

Start with acceptance criteria.

The camera view, operating conditions and event definition determine what a scenario can reliably detect. A pilot should assess missed events, false alarms, repeated notifications, processing delay and resource use.

Equipment-control actions require a project-specific integration design and validation; a visual detection alone is not a safety certification.

Planning your application

Which process measurements can use computer vision?

Published applications include haul truck load volume, visible ore particle sizes, flotation froth features and selected workover operations. Choose the measurement method and reference data for each task.

How is a process event connected to existing systems?

Agree the event identifier, timestamp, source, measurement fields and evidence, together with the receiving system and failure handling. The platform and integration guides describe the operating approach.
